ABOUT
Born in 1988, of French and British origin, Caroline Delétoille explores memories, dreams, and the traces left by the passing of time. With an initial background in mathematics and management, having pursued her studies in Paris, Lille and later completing a MBA in Japan, she worked eights years in industrial strategy. meanwhile, she developed painting in workshops and decided to devote herself to it in 2021.
Her work has been shown in France and Spain, including at Gallery Opening in Barcelona. She was awarded a prize at the Salon de Pierrefitte in 2022. In 2023, her work was the subject of a solo show at the IESA gallery. In 2024, she was selected for the French Consulate’s residency in Vancouver (Canada), in collaboration with the Morris & Helen Belkin Gallery and the Quantum Matter Institute at the University of British Columbia. In 2025, her work is presented at UNESCO, the Maison Poincaré museum, Collège de France and CENTQUATRE following a research-creation residency at the Collège de France. Her paintings are part of public and private collections in France and abroad, including the UK, the United States, Canada, Spain, and Sweden.
“My work is a constant search for memory. In 2019, I learned by a phone call that the family house had been emptied the day before with its content thrown away. From there began for me an interrogation on the souvenirs, their development and their importance through a plastic exploration of the traces of memory. Starting from photographic archives or my immediate surrounding (landscape, friends, news) my work takes a side step with reality towards the dream, the pictorial space becomes a playground. The colors are frank, lively, in an atmosphere saturated with flashy greens and yellows. While rational referential gets disrupted, the imagination is activated.”
